Birthday Rose and others

(1045)
I made this card for my friend, Alice (birthday 3/22 - she got it yesterday, so I can finally post it).  For a change, this is my original design.  The rose is actually layered - stamped 3 roses on Real Red, then cut out one whole rose, adhered; cut out a portion of the rose, adhered w/dimensional, and then cut a 3rd (smaller) layer, and adhered using dimensionals.  Could not get the bow to come out right, but I certainly do like the look of the card.

Another view, trying to show the layers on the rose.

I hope once this is loaded that you can click on it, to get a larger image.  The card is very pretty in real life.  Used the 'Petals a Plenty' embossing folder from Stampin' Up, then colored in the centers of the flowers with Yoyo Yellow marker.  The big Daisy is not from Stampin' Up, but everything else is.  CASEd from the SCS website - do not recall from whom.

Latest cards

A variety of cards made in the past few days, for a variety of reasons.

(1050)
This one is for my oldest son, who just moved into a new house.  I do not envy him the moving part, but I do envy the 'new house' part.  What fun to move to someplace newer - new neighborhood, new friends, etc.

This one is for my oldest grandson - Jake, who will be 9 years old on April 1.  He's big into Star Wars - but since I don't have any Star Wars stamps, this is as close as I could get.  Purple aliens.  :-)

(1054)
Starting on my Easter cards.  This one will be for a child.  Used last year's stamp set.

This one is so pretty in real life.  I don't think the picture does it justice.  Love the embossed background.  This was CASEd from the SCS website, as close as I could make it.  I love the Abundant Hope stamp set!

Watercolor Bird

I went to a class yesterday (thank you Donna), and we made a card using water color technique.  I had all the tools to try it again at home.  Here's my attempt.  I was disappointed that the Not Quite Navy water color crayon did not come close to matching the Not Quite Navy paper.  Still, it looks ok.  This was cased from an SCS card, but I don't remember whose.
